I wanted to share with you some of my favorite scriptures concerning wisdom. We live in an increasingly convoluted culture, and in my estimation, in order to be people who make wise decisions in how we live our lives, we need some wisdom! Praying you get some wisdom from these scriptures today:

Prov 9:10 Fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom. Knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgment.

There is no question, it is impossible to have wisdom if you deny The Lord, after all, He is the foundation of wisdom itself.

Ecclesiastes 8:1 How wonderful to be wise, to analyze and interpret things. Wisdom lights up a person’s face, softening its harshness.

I love this verse!  Nothing hardens our faces more than when we are overcome with stress, bad decisions, confusion or bitterness.  Wisdom lights up a person’s face, softening its harshness.

Proverbs 3:13-20a Joyful is the person who finds wisdom, the one who gains understanding. For wisdom is more profitable than silver, and her wages are better than gold. Wisdom is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. She offers you long life in her right hand, and riches and honor in her left. She will guide you down delightful paths; all her ways are satisfying. Wisdom is a tree of life to those who embrace her; are those who hold her tightly. By wisdom the Lord founded the earth; by understanding He created the heavens…

Our Creator created the heavens and the earth by wisdom and understanding.  Being wise and having understanding are so important, just look at all the wonderful benefits listed in these verses!  Joyful is the person who finds wisdom!   And finally, something I pray very very often:

James 1:5 If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and He will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.

We never have to be hesitant in asking God to give us wisdom!  Not only does He promise to give it to us, but He promises He will never get angry nor punish us for asking.  God gives us a free pass to ask Him for wisdom at any time.  What an amazing and beautiful gift.  When we have the humility to acknowledge we do not know everything, that God the Father does, and that we desperately need His help, He is happy to give us the wisdom we need!  What a good and awesome and powerful God!!!
