Men seem to continually complicate what God has said in His word. Not to say that everything is simply black and white, but some things are, and we can rest in that! One thing I’ve always said to my son when there is a question of obedience is simply, “Obey or disobey.” My point being this, make a decision. You’ve got the option obey or disobey, what you don’t have options about are the consequences of each a decision. One will go well with you; the other will not. There’s this little passage in Isaiah Chapter 1 that I love, because YHVH (The Father God, our Creator) is saying to His people the exact same thing. See if this resonates with you like it did me.
“Come now, let us reason] together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool. 19 If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; 20 but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be eaten by the sword; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”
Isaiah 1:18-20
Where do you need to be willing and obedient when it comes to the LORD and His instructions? Are you refusing and/or rebelling in your heart toward Him for some reason? It is written that God opposes the proud, but gives His grace to the humble. My heartfelt encouragement today is let’s humble ourselves before Him, be willing and obedient. If there is any pride which raises its head in refusal and rebellion, it will lead to our destruction. Let’s take the humble position before the Creator of all things, and through his Son, Yeshua (Jesus), let our sins be made white as snow.
