The first article of the year is an important one to me. I was contemplating what I was supposed to write about and the answer came in a number. I got home from the Middle East after midnight Friday, still dealing with quite a bit of jetlag, I was wide awake at 3:33 this morning. Those numbers mean something to me and I’ll tell you why. I believe the God speaks to us in ALL KINDS of ways. When I see 333 in any form it reminds me of Jeremiah 33:3, which is an unbelievably important concept for us to know. This is what that scripture says,

“Call to Me, and I will answer you—
I will tell you great and hidden things, which you do not know.”

This is the Living God talking to His servant Jeremiah, who is imprisoned knowing that the nation of Israel, his own nation, is in grave danger. God invited Jeremiah to call out to Him. God tells Jeremiah that He will reveal things that have been hidden from him, things that Jeremiah could never know on his own, all he has to do is call out to God.

I believe some of us need to do that for 2018. Actually, what if we all did? What if we just said NO to worry and fear and dread and laziness, etc…and just humbled ourselves before the Creator of the Universe and called out to Him? There are things, great and mighty and hidden things, that we don’t know…and here is this kind and merciful and POWERFUL God offering Himself to us. “Call to Me,” He says, “and I will answer you, and I will show you great and mighty things that you don’t know.” I don’t know what things you need to know, I don’t know what areas you are tempted to stress and fret and worry, but God knows. He sees you right where you are, and He’s waiting for you to come to Him. Jesus says this, “Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28) He is our answer. We come calling upon Him and He not only gives us answers but He gives us Himself. Jesus goes on to say, “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and ‘you will find rest for your souls.’ For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
