The fact that the Lord God wants to be known by us is so wonderful and so astounding to me.  He invites us to follow Him (Matthew 4:19) and seek after Him (Luke 11:9-10).  He promises not to leave us nor will He ever forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:8), no matter how hard or trying our circumstances become (1 Peter 5:7).  He tells us He will give us wisdom if we ask for it (James 1:5). God also says that His ways are higher than ours and His thoughts are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9).   If we humble ourselves before Him, He will lift us up (James 4:10).  If we will acknowledge Him in all our ways, He will make straight our path (Proverbs 3:5-6).  If we seek Him with all our hearts, we will find Him (Jeremiah 29:13).  He is a God who keeps His promises (Hebrews 10:23).  He is a God who loves the world so much He sent Jesus to live a completely clean and sinless life so that He could be offered as the ultimate sacrifice to pay for our sins (John 3:16).  John the Baptist, announced Jesus as the “Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.”  (John 1:29) The thing about God is that He keeps His promises.  God is batting 1000 when it comes to fulfilled promises!  Even if everyone in your life disappoints you at some point or another because they broke a vow or a promise…God will not.  Even if you’re in the scariest, most awful situation you’ve ever imagined, God is faithful.  He can be trusted.  He is the ultimate promise-keeper!  No one else knows you like He does.  The Bible tells us that the hairs on our heads are numbered (Matthew 10:30).  He knows and that brings me such joy and such comfort, even in trying times, because there is SO much that I don’t know.  When you know The One who knows all, that’s a safe and wonderful place to be.  May you sense God’s nearness as you go throughout your day today.  I pray you won’t ignore Him, like so many of us are tempted to do. Instead of being distracted by a million things…run to Jesus today…He really IS who He says He is!  🙂
