We’ve had a backyard garden since 2013, some years much more fruitful than others…but this is the first year I’ve had an irrigation system to keep things well-watered in these 100+ degree days. Let me tell you, it makes ALL the difference in how our garden looks in mid-Summer vs. how it has looked this time of year previously. The thing about my drip lines is that they deliver very slowly, but steadily all morning long the moisture that my plants so desperately need during the hottest part of the day.
Yehovah (the LORD GOD) in Isaiah 58 tells His people all these ways that they’re falling short of His best. He gives them examples of having compassion on orphans and widows, clothing those who do not have clothes, feeding the hungry, etc. They’re quarrelling, fighting and refusing to humble themselves. Yehovah wants them to be those that break yokes of the oppressed. And then, this incredible verse comes. Verse 11. Listen to what He says will happen IF they will obey Him & walk in His Ways:
And Yehovah will guide you continually and satisfy your desire in scorched places and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.
