There’s something I want to bring up this week, maybe since Thanksgiving just concluded and many have been with family, maybe a prompting of the Holy Spirit, but please prayerfully consider this subject and I would encourage you with all my heart to take it to the LORD in prayer and see if there be anything He’d like for you to surrender to Him and bring healing to you. It could mean healing and freedom for the rest of your days, do not fear, trust the LORD because He is Yehovah Raphe, the LORD who heals. Please hear me out and prayerfully consider if this applies to you, if not, Praise God – then go be His hands & feet to bring healing to others; if so, Praise God – then make the decision to go with Him to the wounded places and let Him minister healing to you there.
Are there patterns in your life that seem to repeat, or do you find yourself in familiar unhappy, unpeaceful or even destructive situations? Maybe it’s big stuff that affects every part of your life, or maybe it’s this nagging thing that seems minor but you’d much prefer to be free from it forever. I’m here to testify that God can do a mighty work of healing and restoration with severe wounds from the past. The LORD GOD is mighty to save, He’s compassionate and kind and abounds in steadfast love. One of the most powerful positions you can take a human is that of humility before a Holy God. True repentance – admitting where you’ve denied God, trusted in your own way while ignoring Him, worshipped at the altar of any false god, blamed God or shut your heart down to Him because you didn’t understand why something happened, and the list can go on and on. I’m trusting that the LORD is showing you even as you continue to read what it might be. Simply repent. Turn from it, and put your trust in Him. He will not fail. He can bring beauty from ashes in your life, just like He did in mine. Like Yeshua (Jesus) asked the man by the Pool of Bethesda, “Do you want to be made well?” If you do, give your life to Him, hold nothing back, and watch as He redeems the time in which you have suffered; He will weave a tapestry of beauty from whatever pain you surrender to Him.
I very much believe that we can carry wounds from long ago that can absolutely affect us deeply today, if they are not dealt with rightly. But, glory to God, they can be dealt with rightly! These wounds can cause immeasurable suffering emotionally, relationally, physically, and spiritually. Think about that for a moment. These wounds of the soul may have been inflicted upon you because of someone else’s sin. You may have made decisions that opened doors to the Enemy (Satan and/or demonic forces) to inflict more pain and destruction into your life of your own accord. If you are truly willing to be made free, ask Yeshua (Jesus) where you need healing, and I mean specifically healing from a wound that was inflicted into your life long ago, ask Him to help you deal with it rightly, ask Him to help you receive the truth of what He says – then be quiet before Him. Listen intently for Him to show you. The Spirit of the Living God doesn’t speak of His own but only what with the Father says. It may be something specific that you need to do in order to bring full healing to you, to your family to the generations to come. It could be that you need to finally weep and confess to Him your deepest sorrow; it may be that you need to receive Him as your Redeemer and entrust your life fully to Him and begin to follow Him for the rest of your days. I don’t pretend to know what His answer to your soul will be, but I do know this, by the authority of Scripture, which heals and accomplishes that which it is sent for, that if you will humble yourself before the Living God, He will draw near to you and receive you.
Here’s the question: If you know what I have described here is true and you know you are experiencing the effects of an old wound in your life – Have you brought it to the LORD and asked Him for healing and for restoration yet? If not, then let today be the day!
