Have you made time to look back over 2014 yet? If not, I highly recommend that you do it this week. I was reading Philippians 4:6 this morning, I want to share it with you, because I think it’s a great word for us as we move into another new year:

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.

Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done.

Few things change our life for the better like gratitude. If we can begin to view difficulties and challenges as gifts from God instead of viewing them as curses, it opens up immeasurable opportunities for us to grow and learn and become better versions of ourselves. And, if you and I will recognize that if we lack anything – we should ask God. James 1:5-8 talks about how to ask for wisdom, Matthew 7:7-11 gives us insight on how to persevere in prayer effectively by asking God, 1 John 1:9 is about forgiveness, and there are so many more examples.   And Psalm 84:11 is one of my favorite scriptures: “For the LORD God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The LORD will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right.”

May you become a better version of yourself is 2015, may you be a person who does what is right, may you have the guts to pray instead of worry, to be honest with God about what you need, and to have a heart that is more truly grateful than any other year of your life. That is my prayer for you in 2015…
