We need to be reminded of this …AND… that we can crash our own immune systems by stress, being sedentary and the amount of sugar we eat.  So, if you’re sitting around watching the news, and drinking a Dr. Pepper because you’re truly fearful and stressed out over world events, just know that you’re NOT doing yourself any favors in preventing yourself from getting sick!  Truly, our immune systems need support not more attack, if we’re going to be well.  I feel like I talk about this all the time, but the internal environment of our bodies is DRASTICALLY effected by what we eat, how we think, and how we move.  So, just as a loving reminder, I’m going to give you a run-down of things you can do today to help support your immunity (doses below are approx. adult doses)

–       Vitamin D3 (begin with 5,000 IU/day for 7 days, then reduce to 2,000 IU/day); unless you’ve had a Vit. D bloodtest and are on higher doses already for that reason. Better yet – get outside with sunshine on your skin…we’re about to have some 80 degree days in November, so take advantage!!

–       Vitamin C (minimum 3,000 mg/day in divided doses, even much higher doses up to bowel tolerance if you’ve been exposed to the flu, etc.); eat some fresh raspberries and blueberries or an orange

–       Zinc (20 mg/day)

–       Selenium (100 micrograms/day; ex: 2 brazil nuts contain this amount of Selenium)

–       Probiotics (minimum 15 billion bacteria per day) or make your own Sauerkraut!  AND ION Gut Support which helps to heal leaky gut and supports your body’s ability to deal with everyday toxins that plague our world, like glyphosate.

–       Omega 3 (2000 IU/day), or eat wild-caught salmon often, but if you buy fish oil, be sure you get a high-quality one that doesn’t smell or taste like fish, that means it’s no good!!

Other helpful things:

–       Elderberry Syrup supports the immune system, too

–       Exercise – just get moving somehow, don’t be sedentary

–       When you feel overwhelmed, instead of spending your day rehearsing what is wrong, scary or upsetting – PRAY and cast your cares on God because He cares for you!  Psalm 55:22 & 1 Peter 5:7
