We have reached the time of God’s Fall Feast season (the Hebrew word is “Moedim,” i.e. our Creator’s appointed times) on the Biblical Calendar.  Genesis 1:14 says: “And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons, and for days and years…”

The word “seasons” is ‘Moedim’ in Hebrew.  As far back as creation, one of the reasons God put the sun, moon, and stars in the sky is FOR His appointed times.  How amazing is that?  How much more should our hearts pay attention to these things?  With that in mind, this week is the feast called, “Yom Teruah,” the day of shouting or day of making a noise, often called the “Feast of Trumpets” and blowing of shofars (ram’s horns).

It’s a day characterized by the call to wake up, to call us to pay attention, ultimately to call us to come back to God.  Has there ever been a more critical day for us to all come back to God?  Maybe you’ve never come to Him to begin with—if that’s you, then let today be the day.

Wake up to the evil around you, and define evil not according to our culture but God’s Words.

Wake up and know that you DO NOT have to go the way of evil or indifference or confusion any longer.

Wake up and know that God’s ways are right, they are for our good, and His instructions are called Life & Blessing in Deuteronomy 30.

The next Fall Feast is the Day of Atonement, which falls next week on October 2.  Historically it’s the one single day on the Biblical calendar each year when the High Priest went into the Holy of Holies in God’s Tabernacle or Temple to atone for the sins of the Hebrew people.  The book of Hebrews in the New Testament explains that Yeshua, Jesus, is currently acting as our High Priest in Heaven. It’s a day we memorialize the fact that we all desperately need to be and can be forgiven for our sins, and we give great glory to the One who gave His life on the cross and got up out of the grave 3 days later ALIVE so that we can be free from sin and its rule over us.

Repentance means a returning. That’s literally the Hebrew definition of ‘Teshuvah,’ the word in the Bible most commonly translated “repentance.”

Turn away from your own ways. Return to God.

Turn away from the world’s ways. Return to God.

Turn away from evil in all its forms and all its ways. Return to God.

Return TO the LORD God Almighty, Yehovah the God of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob and receive His Son, Yeshua as not only your Savior-but also the Lord of your life, giving Him access to cleanse you from everything that’s ever made you unclean.

Repent and receive the greatest gift, the sweetest gift of all time, the ability to draw near to God and have Him draw near to you. Yeshua, Jesus, is the only Way.
