Sometimes I get overwhelmed by the bigness of God and at the very same time overwhelmed by His nearness. He is infinitely powerful and yet intimately close to the hearts of those who would humble themselves before Him. God’s way has always been that He accepts anyone who comes to Him and is willing to let go of their own ways and to follow Him. To follow Him means to do things according to what He says, not what we see is right in our own eyes. Proverbs 3:5-6 says it best, “Lean not on your own understanding, but in all Your ways acknowledge Him and He will make straight your paths.” The entire Bible is full of ways that God has proven over and over that His way is best. Those who are willing to follow Him trust that He is good and that He knows what they don’t know. The brilliant thing is that God has already given us His Words to live by in the Bible, and He has already made a way for us to understand HOW to walk in His ways…His name is Jesus!
Psalm 145:16-20 World English Bible
16 You open Your hand, and satisfy the desire of every living thing.
17 Yahweh is righteous in all His ways, and gracious in all His works.
18 Yahweh is near to all those who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth.
19 He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him. He also will hear their cry, and will save them.
20 Yahweh preserves all those who love Him, but all the wicked He will destroy.
